The business develops power origination activities in these regions, aiming to become the counterparty of choice.
As the countries in these regions resume growth in GDP, the need to replace their ageing power assets presents us with opportunities to participate not just in Gazprom’s traditional gas markets but also in power. Capitalising on Gazprom’s existing and planned gas exports enhances the opportunities in the power markets of eastern and south-eastern Europe. And since power links all the primary energy sources, we see additional potential in coal, carbon, nuclear and hydroelectric energy.
With the right synergies in place involving other Gazprom Group entities, Gazprom Germania’s activities and long-term strategy are facilitating the return of our parent company to what has historically been its ‘home’ market.
